Lockdown-day 32: You are what you eat

The phrase, “you are what you eat” is literally true. Nutrients from the foods you eat food provide the foundation of the structure, function, and integrity of every little cell in your body, from your skin and hair to your muscles, bones, and your brain.

So shouldn’t you be concerned about what you are feeding your brain? Why do they say that people who eat lots of chilies get angry very fast? Why does eating chocolate get us into good mood?

In my opinion the food-mood link is very real, so we should always be careful of what we stuff ourselves with.According to research, lack of omega-3 has already been linked with depression and antisocial behavior and the brain’s neurons need the essential fatty acids to keep us bright and snappy.

Eat healthy and keep smiling 🙂

Stay Safe and Stay Home!!!

Lockdown-day 31: Uncertainty

In uncertainty – lies all possibility, so embrace it and channelize the anxiety and doubt to find new possibilities.

Being uncertain is one of the best things that has happened to me 🙂. Removing the cobwebs from my DSLR and making the most of the view I have.

Lockdown-day 29: YogicJogging

Yogic Jogging an effective way to energize and vitalize your whole body into action.

In this video Swami Ramdev shows how 10-12 minutes of Yogic Jogging consisting of 12 simple poses gives full exercise to the body, you’ll feel calm, relaxed and rejuvenated. Plus, yoga provides an array of health benefits that improve your daily life. Like; Yoga reduces inflammation and oxidative stress (which helps minimize signs of aging), boosts “feel-good” chemicals in the brain, strengthen immunity, improves posture, combats depression, and increases energy levels.

Yogic jogging is my vacation and travel yoga routine and looks like its my lockdown routine as well. Just after just 10 minutes of yoga, I have more energy, my concentration improves, overall I feel lighter and most importantly guilt free that I didn’t skip yoga.

Lockdown-day 28

“The more real you get, the more unreal the world gets” – John Lennon

Parallax Effect

Ever wondered about parallel universes? The idea is pervasive in old Hindu scriptures, modern comic books, games and movies. Do we alternate between our multiverse after we die? Is there a way to travel between them? I will let science to find out that answer, I am happy photoshop-ing the concept 🙂

“Things end but memories last forever” – Kumar Milan

It’s the Lychee season but I might miss it this time as it is not an essential commodity. Guess I will be eating a lot of mangoes this summer to compensate for this.

Lockdown-day 21

“An obstacle is often an unrecognized opportunity” – Robert South

May Ganesha help with all the obstacles we face. Last day of the first phase of the lockdown. We are still going to be on lockdown until May 3rd. I am running out of paper. Let me see what else I can do further. Do I have to become totally digital? My digital skills are still rough as you can see above. Maybe this is an opportunity to learn Photoshop properly.

I am getting a hang of doodling, amazingly I find it very therapeutic and I can concentrate or focus for long.

Happy Doodling …Happy Blogging !!!

Lockdown-day 20

“Everyone is bored, and devotes himself to cultivating habits” – Albert Camus, The Plague

This is all I could do today, not out of boredom but I am mentally and physically exhausted. I need a break from this break so that I don’t break down. Physically exhausted because there is a lot of cooking and cleaning, mentally because the lockdown has been extended till April 30. I need to drive my car, go to office, get bored at work and come back home to whine about it. Wouldn’t that be amazing !!!

Happy Sketching…. Happy Blogging !!!

“Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself” – Coco Chanel

It took me almost 5 hours to do the detailing on this one. It was like a 5 hour meditation. My fingers hurt badly but it was all worth it. I need a break – a woman’s gotta eat !!!

Happy Sketching…. Happy Blogging !!!

Lockdown-day 17: Smile Yoga

“Smile Yoga” does it sound funny and ridiculous? It does but it is one of the simple yet profound technique of meditation in which you sit in a meditation pose and generate a feeling of natural happiness and smile. Just smile 🙂

As Ketut from Eat, Pray, Love says smile from face, smile from eyes and even smile from your liver 🙂

Think about it!!!

Stay Safe and Stay Home!!!

Lockdown-day 16

“Your body can stand almost anything, It’s your mind that you have to convince” – Hari Harish

I have been wanting to make this since some time and guess this is almost the right time … 😀

Remember it’s all in head, stay strong and stay healthy.

Lockdown-day 15: Color Psychology

With the rains coming in and graying the skies, I got to thinking about how colors around us effect our moods. Colors influence perceptions that are not obvious, so I did some research on how people get effected by the colors we wear. While many people are aware of the impact of color on their own image and how they look to other people, what you may not be so familiar with is the psychological impact your choice of color can have on others, specially in business. Color has such a subconscious impact that it is important to have an understanding of what it says.

  • Establish trust and credibility, then blue is best. It is the safest color of all, universally liked by most men and women – however it has a certain predictability about it and suggests ‘conservative’.
  • Appear friendly & approachable – choose lighter colors such as mid tone blues and greensblue-greens and tealtan and peachy-orange.
  • Be assertive – red, but it can also be threatening to others.
  • Get noticed – red, if giving a talk to a large group – but it can be tiring if you are already overtired.
  • Appear confident – blue-green is a good business color for women to wear, it suggests high self esteem and confidence, yet is still friendly and approachable.
  • Show dependability – green – be aware that it is also a color that is not always liked by others, even though it is the color of emotional balance.
  • Appear neutral – grey or beige will do it. This can let your personality shine through, although you may also come across as a fence-sitter, keeping your true feelings to yourself – you may say what the client wants to hear, rather than the truth.
  • Professional with authority – dark blue or dark grey, which are the most business-like colors and good for credibility when promoting your business, yet these could be too overpowering and somber for many of your clients in a consultation.
  • Shock and inspire your audience – magenta will do this for you.

So next time you prepare for an event, interview or presentation, pick the right color.

Think about it!!

Lockdown-day 14

“All good things are wild and free” – Henry David Thoreau

Looks like I will be doing some painting a lot longer than I intended to. My company is asking me to take leave and go on a loss of pay till things get better… whenever that will be !!!

Happy Painting… Happy Blogging!!!

Stay Safe … Stay Home !!!

Lockdown-day 13

“The most courageous act is still to think for yourself. Aloud” – Coco Chanel

I never believed in the myth or logic behind the number 13 being a bad number but today was a crazy and scary day for me. The job market is in a lamentable state creating lots of uncertainty and disarray. And guess what – IT’S DAY 13 … Could it be just a coincidence….!!!

For fun tell me how many silhouette are there?

Did a little rough and quick Photoshoping (Guess that is the only shopping I am going to do for a while now… 🙂 ) Trying to improve on my digital art skills now that I can’t run out and buy painting supplies anymore… at least not for a while.

Stay Strong … Stay Positive !!!

Happy Painting… Happy blogging !!!

Stay Safe… Stay Home !!!

Lockdown-day 12

“In a world where everyone wears a mask, it’s a privilege to see a soul.”
― Amanda Richardson
